Núñez: "It's the perfect time for me to join a club like Valencia CF"
The defender addresses questions in his official unveiling
New Valencia CF defender, Unai Núñez, talked on Thursday to the media about his signing.
Joining Valencia CF
“I had been an ever-present at Hellas Verona, and I feel good physically. The decision to come here is because this opportunity arose, and it's the perfect moment for me to join a club like Valencia CF. Coming back to Spain was the reason I made this decision.”
His aim
“We know the reality of the situation, but Valencia CF are an historic club that have always fought for great things. What we have to do is focus on each training session and match, to get as many points as possible and be able to look higher up the table.”
His talks with Carlos Corberán
“That remains private. We’ll see what he asks of us each day, and what we have to do.”
His fitness
“I feel good, and that I'm in good shape. I’m really looking forward to playing and helping my teammates.”
The team's defence
“I watched the game the other day and I liked the performance. We have to keep this momentum going; I see the team working very well in all aspects. The fewer goals the opponents score, the better it will be for us, and it gives us a better chance of getting more points.”
The table
“We’re halfway through the season, so there’s still a lot of games to be played. We can change the dynamic. In Italy, when we watched LaLiga matches, Valencia CF are seen as a big, historic club.”
